Senior Lighting Artist / Paris, France

The Lighting Artist creates lighting and shading techniques and delivers the final renderings to the Image Compositing department, meeting Rodeo FX’s high quality requirements.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop 3D lighting programming structures and resolve rendering issues;
  • Work closely with CG and Lighting Supervisors to find creative and technical solutions and approaches that enhance shots, while meeting project specifications and deadlines;
  • If necessary, participate in the development of tools and techniques for the department;
  • Perform quality control to ensure all technical and creative standards are met on shots before submission for review and approval, and promptly incorporate requested changes;
  • Keep production and project team informed of progress of work, issues to be resolved and ramifications of problems encountered, recommend potential solutions;
  • Ensure deadlines are met and promptly inform the project team if additional delays are expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a lighting artist in the VFX industry, on photorealistic projects.
  • Excellent command of Houdini and Solaris software, with several years of practice.
  • Strong expertise on Nuke and Arnold.
  • Very good knowledge of Flow Production Tracking.
