JOB TITLE: EQUIPMENT PREP TECHNICIAN

ABOUT THE ROLE

​As an Equipment Prep Technician, based at our Watford site, you’ll combine hands-on lens and grip equipment testing with vital warehouse operations, helping to ensure we continue to deliver industry-leading standards.

​This is a fantastic opportunity delivering fully tested high-tech, cutting-edge broadcast equipment . You will develop new capabilities and technical aptitudes. For this role you will need an engineering background and a high level of technical skills and knowledge, or experience within a warehouse role where you have had exposure and an understanding of Broadcast technical equipment.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Performing accurate testing, cleaning, and preparation of lenses and grip equipment to a high standard.
  • Take ownership for the equipment allocated to you for prep and proactively seek resolution of any issues
  • Drive improved equipment reliability and utilization.
  • Maintaining and documenting equipment readiness, ensuring fault-free deployment to clients and production teams.
  • Supporting warehouse operations including primary equipment management, intercompany transfers of stock, and general logistics.
  • Helping to maintain benchmark warehouse operational processes
  • Acting as a reliable on-site presence to reduce bottlenecks and turnaround time in equipment preparation.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in equipment maintenance and logistical workflows.
  • There may be an occasional requirement to travel to other EMG / Gravity Media sites.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF

  • You have experience with, or a strong interest in broadcast equipment, especially lenses and grip.
  • You’re organized, reliable, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities across technical testing and warehouse support.
  • You are comfortable working in a hands-on role.
  • You enjoy being part of a team but are also confident working independently.
  • You’re proactive and solutions-focused, with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Understands quality and Health and Safety implications of test procedures
  • Able to investigate and analyze problems and suggest solutions
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, pace and energy
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or workshop environment is a strong advantage.
  • Preferable Technical apprenticeship, or other recognized technical qualification (NVQ, BTech etc)
