Coordinator, Music Programs

Creative BC

Reporting to a Program Manager as part of the broader Funding team, the Coordinator, Music Programs supports the delivery and administration of funding programs to support B.C.-based companies, creators and the overall ecosystem supporting the advancement and growth of this province’s creative industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and respond to client inquiries on Creative BC funding programs.
  • Support the creation, development, launch and promotion of funding programs
  • Support the evaluation of applications, communication of funding decisions, creation of contracts, issuing of payments, and review of final reports submitted by funding recipients.
  • Track and measure the impact of Creative BC programs, collecting data and industry success stories.
  • Champion inclusion across the creative sector, by increasing access to funding and supporting projects that foster diversity, inclusivity and increased representation.
  • Meets regularly with other teams within Creative BC to align program delivery,
    communications, and systems structure.
  • Works with the team to ensure accurate records and clean data.

  • Educates and supports applicants and recipients for a smooth application process and excellent client experience.
  • Ensures clear and timely communications around programs, internally and externally.
  • Ensuring the timely issuing of contracts, payments, and processing of final reports.
  • Responds to applicant’s requests for feedback on unsuccessful applications.
  • Supports the team to process funding applications with priorities of consistency and fairness.
  • Measures, analyzes, and reports on the progress and success of programs, innovating processes aligned with ongoing organizational strategies.
  • Builds the organization’s network of relationships within the creative industries community, and integrates industry feedback.
  • Initiates and participates in cross-department improvements for consistency, sharing best practices, and integrated communications.
  • Acts as a support for sector knowledge capture within the department.
  • Shows initiative, creates solutions, and acts as a team player.
  • Identifies and supports client and industry activities for which Creative BC can add value and offer support.
  • Works internally to innovate processes, procedures, and approaches.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience related to the key responsibilities of the position.
  • Education backgrounds in economics, business, or social sciences are preferred.
  • Strong people and service skills, excellent oral and written communication abilities;
  • Knowledge and experience of program design and delivery;
  • Knowledge of B.C.’s creative industries and industry trends relating to motion picture, book and magazine publishing, music and sound recording, interactive and digital media.
  • Awareness of funding opportunities and programs
  • Able to work independently and in a collaborative team setting.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Detail oriented and focused on accuracy.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, databases, and online tools.

  • Timely Client Response: Ensure timely responses to client inquiries and efficient delivery of programs to meet client needs.
  • Clear Program Communication: Communicate program details and updates clearly and effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Process Proficiency: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the processes involved in administering a funding program to ensure smooth operations.
  • Accurate Program Records: Maintain accurate and complete program records in Salesforce for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Values Alignment: Consistently align program delivery with organizational values to uphold integrity and standards.
  • Cross-departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to improve cross-departmental processes and enhance overall organizational efficiency.
  • Industry Participation: Represent Creative BC at industry events while establishing ties across the broader BC music industry.
  • Sector Knowledge Contribution: Effectively capture sector knowledge and contribute to organizational initiatives to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
