The Production Video Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining video equipment for live events, performances, and recordings. This includes managing cameras, video switchers, projectors, LED displays, and playback systems to ensure high-quality visual presentations. The technician works closely with the production team to support video content delivery, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure smooth execution of all video-related elements during events. Attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential for success in this role.

Examples of Duties

  • Directly responsible to the Production Manager, and/or the Events Production Manager.
  • Assist with the safe and correct installation of any park owned equipment or equipment brought into the Park by scheduled artists or rental companies.
  • Work all shows thru load-in, rehearsals, performance, and strike as scheduled.
  • Set up and maintain all Video and Video Wall Equipment.
  • Operate PTZ Cameras/Switcher during all events requiring video.
  • Maintain chain motors, truss, cables, and all other elements of video wall operation.
  • Help Lighting Techs with site lights for events if video duties are complete or not required.
  • Assist with the set up and maintenance of the Clear Com headset system.
  • Repair and/or replace any damaged LED display panels.
  • Communicate with tours to find out what their video needs are for events and assist in helping achieve the artists vision for the performance.
  • At the end of the season, you will be required to submit a written final report summarizing the Events of the season and suggestions for improvement. This report must include a full end-of-season inventory of all sound materials and supplies on hand and the estimated values of each.
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Production Managers and/or the General Manager.

Typical Qualifications

  • Proficient in operating and maintaining video equipment, including cameras, video switchers, projectors, LED walls, and playback systems.
  • Experience with video editing software and platforms (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
  • Familiarity with video formats, signal flow, resolutions, and frame rates.
  • Knowledge of live streaming setups and video capture systems is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot video signal issues and perform basic equipment repairs
  • Able to lift and transport video equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Experience in theatrical, concert, or venue-based video production environments.
  • Familiarity with video mapping, projection design, or multimedia integration is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Video Production, Broadcast Technology, Media Arts, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in live event video production, broadcast, or a similar technical role.
