Job Description
Mikros Animation is looking for talented Mid Animation Artists passionate about performance, action, and design. In a dynamic production environment, you will work closely with a creative team, under the direction of the Animation Leads, to bring the Director’s vision to life.
We are committed to producing high-quality animation and memorable performances. Our current project offers a variety of stimulating and creative challenges in a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Create feature-film quality keyframe animations for the shots you are given.
- Create expressive facial animations and solid, realistic or stylized body mechanics.
- Collaborating with the Animation Leads and the Director to achieve the desired performance and storytelling.
- Respect production deadlines and deliver animations on time.
- Actively participate in daily reviews and discussion sessions on animation.
- Contribute to the creation of shared resources, such as animation libraries or rig improvements.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in 3D character animation with Maya on feature films or animated series.
- Solid understanding of body mechanics and character performance.
- Ability to interpret storyboards and incorporate feedback from the Director.
- Ease in a production pipeline and adaptability to custom tools.
- Knowledge of ShotGrid (formerly Shotgun) and VR is an asset.
- Good sense of cartoonish animation and creative exaggeration, with the ability to “break the rules” to serve the story.
- Good communication skills and collaborative team spirit.
Optional skills
- Experience in 2D animation and/or drawing/design skills.
- Knowledge of scripting or rigging.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is appreciated.
Additional information
The successful candidate will work closely with our Paris studio in a bilingual environment, as well as with our international partners, talent, and clients. They will regularly participate in discussions with non-French-speaking stakeholders, in the context of productions, internal presentations, and strategic communications aimed at promoting Mikros Animation’s creative and technical capabilities globally.
