FILMTVLAW.COM: I am putting together an indie film that I will seek distribution and place in festivals. The film in question will be based around one leading actor. What kind of contract or agreement should I create with the leading actor if the film gets distribution and it sells in the six-figures? Some good questions today about independent film production, specifically involving actor agreements and distribution. Let’s talk about the actor contract first, and then we can address your questions about distribution of independent films and what types of deals to expect.
So, first off everyone should know that the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) makes available free contracts to independent filmmakers, which they hope that independent filmmakers will use to hire actors. I know that as soon as I write this, half the readers will quit reading and go look up the free SAG contracts......READ MORE

The magnitude of the state's largess should concern any taxpayer.
While California was once far and away the epicenter of film production, many other states-including Georgia-attempted to lure TV and movie makers away from the Golden State with government handouts to create new jobs, boost tax revenues and stimulate local economics....READ MORE

Life continues to be a journey of discovery for me; an adventure that draws me to many destinations around the world. If I were to be an authority of anything, it would be the taking of consistent action to get things done, being true to yourself and loyal with others. Things that truly drive you toward your goals and passion. There will always be times of the mundane, doing that job you dislike, being somewhere you would rather not be, and its these times where you must dare to dream of what’s to come and keep going.
We all have a job to do and love ones to protect and care for, but our lives are special and unique. Our purpose is to the service of others no matter your position and the service of ourselves to be a better you. Energy is the key factor here, getting going and making things happen, not waiting for life to pass us by. Take consisent action be true to yourself and your heart will be fulfilled.

Mount Everest for me for many years was only a dream, a place unreachable, a place you only read about in an adventure book, magazine or a see on a television documentary. I was sharing a beer with a mate, when he mentioned that his expedition to Base Camp Mount Everest was leaving in two days from Melbourne and they had a spare spot should I like to join them.
Arriving in the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu was simply amazing with its ember of incense and potent smells oozing your every sense. The music in the streets and Temples take you to a different level – a state of harmony and peace. It was like you were suddenly transported to another world totally detached from your own reality, a world of stark difference and totally opposite to the comforts we enjoy as the norm.Continued

“Some people are reluctant to try it, because they fear rejection”
Over the many years of my working life especially as an actor I have been told by others many times that I am not right for the role, countless times. So why do I go back for more “no’s”, more rejection? The reason is simple. I love the craft of acting, I really enjoy the process, I am passionate about just the action of taking on another character in life and communicating that person the best I can.....Continued
